beginning of poem about 5 deaths and a woman who kills a rabbit on the way to meeting her lover who decides he does not love her

twilight of gold and purple driving into desert moon into desert cannon
jackrabbit golden hued came under the barrier and in front of her car
slapped 60 mph to a winding stop
she got out to look at it, her knees pressed to the asphalt, its body lay
long its stomach cut open, its eyes looked at her black and terrified
alone on the highway she looked out to the horizon down into the canyon
her hands of a healer holding this broken life, she closed her eyes and snapped its neck broke

this was the instant she first began to feel her lung being ripped out of her
